    300M Swiss Match

    Date & Time: Starts at 10:00 AM (arrive on time). There is a morning session and an afternoon session. Both count for your match score.
    Location: SRCC Range
    Eligibility: Open to all members aged 12+ (no registration or fee)
    Position: Prone (front/rear support allowed, no bipods)
    Ammo Required: Minimum 44 rounds 

    Equipment Rules:

    • A Class: Open-sight rifles (range-compliant)

    • B Class: Scoped rifles (range-compliant)

    • Muzzle brakes permitted

    • Mandatory: Bolt flag + Wi-Fi-enabled device (laptop/tablet/smartphone with browser)

    Additional Info:

    • New/inexperienced shooters welcome—RSOs and members will assist.

    • Lunch after morning session: Complimentary Bratwurst Roll BBQ (bring your own BBQ items if desired).

    • Each participant can plan to enter an additional match for the day. Either the .22LR or pistol matches.

    .22LR Rimfire Match

    Date & Time: Starts at 10:00 AM (arrive by 10:00 AM)
    Location: SRCC Range
    Eligibility: Open to all members aged 12+ (no registration or fee)
    Caliber: .22LR only

    Match Details:

    • 50m: 16 rounds on small target

    • 100m: 16 rounds on larger reactive steel targets

    • Rules: 1 round per target, max 2 sighters

    • Position: Benchrest (foldable bipod + front/rear bag allowed)

    • Optics: Scopes permitted

    Additional Info:

    • New shooters welcome! RSOs and experienced members will assist.

    • Lunch: Complimentary Bratwurst Roll BBQ (bring your own BBQ items if desired).

    • Optional: Participants may enter one additional match (300M Swiss or pistol) later in the day.

    Date & Time: Starts at 10:00 AM (arrive by 10:00 AM)
    Location: SRCC Range
    Eligibility: Open to all members aged 12+ (no registration or fee)
    Caliber: Open or .22LR

    Match Details:

    • Total Rounds: 42

    • Optics: Not permitted

    • .22LR Division: Runs as a separate competition (accuracy advantage)

    Additional Info:

    • New shooters welcome! RSOs and experienced members will assist.

    • Lunch: Complimentary Bratwurst Roll BBQ (bring your own BBQ items if desired).

    • Optional: Participants may enter one additional match (either .22LR or 300M Swiss)

    Registration required.

    A fun shoot attended by Swiss Rifle Club members, hunters, and shooting enthusiasts. Anyone older that 12 can shoot. The target distance is 300m.  We will have 2 classes of shooters and any rifle that is permitted at the range is allowed:

    A Class = Any open sight (iron sights) rifle.  

                  Foldable bipods and muzzle brakes are allowed.

    B Class = Rifles with scopes 

                  Foldable bipods and muzzle brakes are allowed.

    Targets:

    The targets have no markings other that a picture of the animal. You have to shoot the animal in the correct spot to maximise your score.


    1. Description:

    The competition consists of 5 different animals and a witch target as follows: Morning - 10:00 to 12:30  - 18 shots

    Afternoon - 13:00 till finish - 18 shots

    You are allowed (2) two minutes of unlimited practice shots, then the hunt begins

    2. Costs include:

    - Dinner with desert & coffee - About 16:30

    - Every shooter will receive a Meat Prize prepared by Valbella Gourmet Foods

    - $40.00 SRCC members

    - $50.00 Nonmembers

    - FREE Supper (non-shooters) for SRCC members or spouses

    - FREE Coffee, Soft drinks or bottled water

    No Alcohol will be served or is permitted on the Range

    3. Repeats: Sorry, no repeats are allowed.

    4. Scoring:

    The highest scores obtained on each target will be added together to determine the winner.

    5. Schedule:

    09:00 to 09:45 Arrival and registration

    09:45 to 10:00 Orientation

    10:00 to 14:30 Competition (see above, bring a snack for when you are not shooting)

    16:30 (approximate) Dinner & Awards

    6. Awards:

    - Shooters that qualify for awards will be announced and receive their medal.

    - Champions for Rifle, Pistol, and 22LR will be announced and the receive their trophy plaque

    RSVP by no later than Sep 21, 2025 is MANDATORY so that we know how much food and how many prices to prepare. We hope to see you at our Annual Hunter Shoot!

    Course Description


    Who Is This For?


    Anyone who would like to try out shooting a handgun in a safe environment, or for existing handgun owners that would like to shoot better.

    Overview

    These bi-monthly sessions focus on the fundamentals of handgun shooting, emphasizing techniques for precision target shooting and effective target acquisition. Instruction covers safety, grip and stance, sight alignment, breathing, and trigger control, with a combination of classroom learning and hands-on practice. Participants may bring their own handgun, equipment and ammunition or use club-provided options for an additional fee, with time allocated for individual practice afterward.

    Participants Bring

    • Hearing and eye protection
    • Weather-appropriate clothing (outdoor range)
    • Any preferred personal equipment (holsters, range bags, etc.)
    • Handgun and ammunition if the participant is providing them.

    Requirements

    • Current member of SRCC;
    • 12 years old if their parents have a PAL and the parents are present with them (to encourage them to get their Youth PAL); or 
    • 18 years with either a PAL or RPAL.

    Maximum Participants

    8 people per session

    Dates

    Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm on the following dates:

    • April 12, 2025
    • June 14, 2025
    • August 16, 2025
    • October 11, 2025
    • December 13, 2025

    You can choose more than one session.

    Cost per Session

    • $30 per person for instruction;
    • and additional $10 per person for use of handguns and 80 rounds of ammunition if required.

    Course Instructor Bio

    Nicholas Lui served as a Signals Operator and Officer in the Canadian Forces from 2001 to 2008, gaining extensive experience with military firearms and marksmanship. Since 2008, he has been an active member of the civilian shooting community through BTSA, competitive shooting, range safety, and firearms instruction, including roles as a Range Safety Officer, Tactical Handgun Instructor, and Young Guns Youth program and Action Shooting League 3-gun league founder. He has also directed multiple shooting initiatives, served on the Government of Alberta Firearms Advisory Committee, and continues to develop expertise in ammunition reloading.  He also operates the Young Guns Canada Youtube Channel;  https://www.youtube.com/@YoungGunsCanada/.  

    Nicholas will also create instructional content on his YouTube channel for those who cannot attend.
